The company signed a 25-year agreement with Chongqing Yulong Asset Management, a state-owned asset management company controlled by the Jiulongpo district government in Chongqing.

The State’s Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode is adopted by the parties for the bundled operation and maintenance (O&M) project of two municipal sewage treatment plants and 14 rural sewage treatment plants.

The plants have the capacity to treat 41,300 tons of sewage a day.

Sound Global chairman Wen Yibo said the project is another typical example of comprehensive sewage treatment following the successful implementation of bundled sewage treatment projects in rural areas of Xishui, Huangping and Xingren County in South-western China.

"In addition, such cooperation will enable Sound Global to increase its market share and regional influence in water services and ecological governance in Jiulongpo District, and even in Chongqing as a whole."

In a separate press release, Sound Global revealed that it has recently entered into a contract to build the sixth water supply plant in Jilin City, Jilin Province, China.

The plant will have daily water supply capacity of 600,000 cubic meters for a long term and 200,000 cubic meters for a short term.

The local government will buy the plant within three years upon completion with 40% installments in first year and 30% for the second and third year.
