Mineral exploration company Sono Resources has entered into an agreement with Pinette PTY to acquire three highly prospective mineral exploration licenses in northwestern Botswana.

These licenses, which cover approximately 1872.7 sq km, include both Ghanzi (Kalahari Belt) and Matchless Amphibolite style mineralization.

According to the company, the Matchless Belt extends across the border into Namibia where significant copper mineralization, infrastructure and copper production is found.

Sono Resources said minor silver and traces of gold are also present in the existing Namibian production.

Sono Resources CEO Peter Wilson said the company has increased its land holding to a total of six prospecting licenses consisting of 4,838.3 sq km while adding a complimentary license set to its flagship Bonnyridge project in Botswana.
