TVUSD will purchase the energy produced at the power plant under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
Solon will engineer, design, construct and maintain the power project, which will be spread over four campuses of the Tanque Verde High School and Elementary School, the Emily Gray Junior High School and the Agua Caliente Elementary School.
The power project is slated to be completed by the end of 2012 and is expected to commence operations in the first half of 2013.
SOLON Corp director of business development Robert Wanless said the firm has become a provider for solar solutions to the K-12 school districts in Arizona by listening to its customers’ needs.
