US based SolarWorld’s has begun shipping solar panels to supply a 33MW installation in southeast Ontario, Canada.
The solar power plant consists 144,060 panels, which are expected to generate 39GWh annually, enough to power about 2,600 homes.
Enfinity owned and developed the Stardale PV solar project, prior to its sale to Innergex Renewable Energy.
The company is currently the project partner for engineering, procurement and construction as well as operations and maintenance.
Work on the power project, which is valued at nearly $140m, began in November 2010, and is expected to be complete by the first quarter of 2012.
Innergex is a developer, owner and operator of hydroelectric facilities and energy projects in North America.
