Mr van Splunter began his career with Philips in 1969 holding several positions in product management, marketing and general management for consumer products in the Netherlands and Mexico. In 1985, he became managing director of Grundig and a member of the firm’s board of management.
While president and CEO of Philips Asia Pacific, he was also a member of the board of the Singapore government-led Economic Review Committee and served as the chairman of the Committee for Manufacturing.
Mr van Splunter was appointed president and CEO of Philips Domestic Appliances and Personal Care in May 2003, and a member of the Group Management Committee in August 2003. He retired from Royal Philips Electronics in 2006.
