Under the Sol Lease program, the participating customers will receive a solar energy system to host on their roof with no upfront costs and in return will be required to make a monthly payment for the contract term.

Sol Systems, which is currently offering Sol Lease on a pilot basis in Washington DC, plans to offer Sol Lease at a larger scale and potentially in other market upon completion of the pilot phase.

Sol Systems expects the Sol Lease customers to save an average of 15% on their current utility bills and incur more savings as electricity prices increase.

Sol Systems CEO Yuri Horwitz said that the company is proud to be able to offer Sol Lease program for communities in Washington DC.

“Success for the solar community means innovation in technology, but it also means innovation in finance. Sol Lease helps our installer partners change the equation and provide solar energy to many that otherwise couldn’t secure it,” Horwitz said.
