The refinery is likely to be located in the country’s Chuyskaya province, the Kyrgyz Energy Ministry said.
The project is estimated to be built at a cost of $100m.
The province has allocated four parcels of land for the construction of SOCAR’s oil refinery according to Turkish Weekly.
Currently, talks are underway to discuss in detail issues regarding the implementation of the project, taxation and investments including the supply of electricity to be offered by the National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan.
The oil refinery is scheduled to be in-service by the end of 2013.
