A long-term power purchase agreement has been signed between the company and the state, which is focusing on renewable energy.
The solar power to be supplied by SkyPower will help India in achieving its target of generating 100GW of solar power by 2022.

Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company additional general manager Navin Kumar Kohli said: "SkyPower is a globally renowned company and we are sure that our partnership will pave the way for a wave of solar energy projects to support India’s renewable energy mission."
SkyPower claims to provide solar power in the country at truly market competitive rates while ensuring the quality construction and execution using its global purchasing power and highly advanced systems and processes that have been developed the company over the past 12 years.
Canadian solar energy developer SkyPower has built, assembled and acquired an extensive pipeline of over 25GW solar projects across the world.
Earlier in July, SkyPower signed a $2.2bn agreement to develop 1GW of solar projects in Kenya.
Under the agreement with the Kenyan Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, SkyPower will construct the projects in four phases over the next five years.
