Skykon Composites is headed by CEO Lars Bugge focusing on manufacturing components for wind turbine blades from the two facilities in Faaborg and Nr. Aaby in Denmark. The sales director of Skykon Composites is Michael Andersen.

The Faaborg plant will manufacture plugs and moulds and the Nr. Aaby facility will specialize in manufacturing composite components and internals for wind turbine blades.

Skykon Tower Solutions is led by CEO Dennis Thomsen and the sales director is Klaus Andersen. Skykon Tower Solutions operates from two sites – in Give, Denmark, and in Campbeltown, Scotland.

The Give facility – which will manufacture towers and foundations for the Northern Europe market – is a market leader in the production of larger wind turbine towers ranging from 50 to 120 meters in height.

In the past 40 years it has delivered more than 15,000 towers and has developed retained specialisms in large steel component manufacturing.

The Campbeltown facility – which was acquired from Vestas in March earlier this year – will produce towers and foundations for the growing UK market.

The development plans for the site include the expansion of the facility through a new purpose – built factory as the company grows into the offshore wind turbine market.

Skykon CEO, Jesper Øhlenschlæger, said: “The focus we now communicate of the business provides two high-growth business platforms within the rapidly expanding wind power markets.”
