Under the $255m contract, Skanska, along with joint venture partners Burns & McDonnell and Ecco Enterprises, will build the power plant adjacent to Interstate 84 on an industrially-approved 122 acre area.

The 675MW power generation facility will serve over 600,000 homes in the US. It will feature two gas turbines and one steam turbine.

The facility will implement dry-cooling and environmental control technology, which will make it one of the cleanest conventional electric generating projects in the world.

Work on the project is planned to commence this month with plans to complete in 2017.
