The news follows the company’s announcement last month that all administrative requirements to the US Mine Safety and Health Agency had been approved.
Following preparations carried out over two years, the Sinker Tunnel, located in the Oro Fino Vein system in the War Eagle Mountain, is now open and Silver Falcon has begun aeration and bolting of the remaining upper wall of the existing tunnel.
Silver Falcon expects to release results from the exploratory drilling after completion of the bolting operation and an excavation for a side room near the Oro Fino Vein.
The underground mine is estimated to produce 500,000oz of gold equivalent over the next ten years.
