Green Power EMC and Silicon Ranch have reached an agreement to this effect in June last year.

Both the companies have earlier partnered on a 20MW facility, which is located less than a mile from where the recent project will be situated.

The new facility is expected to create more than 200 jobs during the construction phase, which is scheduled to begin on 1 February this year.

Silicon Ranch president and CEO Matt Kisber said: "At Silicon Ranch we take a long-term view of our relationships and our responsibilities as a developer, owner, operator, and partner in the communities where we do business.

"We are committed to using local service providers and hiring from the local labor pool as much as possible. More than 200 local workers helped to build the project we just completed, and we are excited about bringing that local experience to bear for this new project as well."

Silicon Ranch will carry out the construction on the project, under a partnership with McCarthy Building Companies.

McCarthy and Silicon Ranch have currently partnered on projects totaling 200MW across the nation.

Green Power EMC will purchase the clean electricity generated at the facility at cost-competitive rates for the next 30 years.

The project will generate clean electricity that will be enough to serve approximately 8,500 EMC households.

Green Power EMC president Jeff Pratt said: "Over thirty EMCs will share in the energy produced from these two facilities, providing renewable energy for a growing number of Georgians interested in this important technology. We are grateful for the support from our members and for the partnership we have developed with Silicon Ranch."
