The company will supply three SGT5-2000E gas turbines, the electrical equipment, and an SPPA-T3000 instrumentation and control system for the plant, which will be built as a turnkey project.
The power plant is scheduled to start commercial operation in late 2012 and is a follow-up project to the Geregu I power plant, which was built by Siemens in 2006.
Niger Delta Power managing director and CEO James Olotu said that the centrally located power plant is of strategic importance for grid stability and is a key project for power supply in Nigeria.
With the latest project, the number of Siemens heavy-duty gas turbines in Nigeria increases to eight, the company said.
