Steam, gas and wind turbines boost order book
In a series of orders worth euro 80 million, Siemens is to supply six gas turbines to Russia, Venezuela, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates and four steam turbines for Qatar and Poland.
Venezuelan state utility Enelbar has ordered two gas turbines with a 90 MW total capacity to be installed in Palavecino in the northwest of the country, while a 24 MW gas turbine is set for integration into an existing combined heat and power plant. Moscow-based TechnoServ has ordered a 7.9 MW gas turbine for oil company Severnaya Neft that will be used in an industrial power plant for the Khasyreyskoye Oil Field, north of the Arctic Circle. Another 7.9 MW gas turbine is to be supplied to the United Arab Emirates for a new gas processing facility at the SajGas gas plant in Sharjah being built by Crescent Petroleum. Siemens will also supply a 4.7 MW gas turbine to Engineering for the Petroleum Process Industry in Egypt for a facility operated by Burullus Gas Company.
Japanese group JGC Corp has ordered three 32 MW steam turbines from Siemens for Dolphin Energy of the United Arab Emirates. Siemens also is to supply a 97 MW steam turbine to EC Warszawskie for the Zeran heating plant in Warsaw, Poland.
In other news from Siemens, the group has won an order for 40 wind turbines for an 92 MW turnkey project in Scotland worth around Euro 90 million from npower.
The new wind power division of Siemens, formerly Bonus, will produce the 2.3 MW turbines for the Farr Wind Farm, about 10 km south of Inverness that is scheduled to go online in spring 2006.
