Each appliance is equipped with a preloaded, rapidly deployable instance of eMeter EnergyIP meter data management system with IBM Tivoli and WebSphere software running on IBM Power Systems.
Siemens has also secured a contract from KCBPU to implement eMeter Energy Engage, eMeter’s customer web portal, to display consumer usage information.
The company said this partnership will support a network of more than 69,000 electric meters and 55,000 water meters.
The implementation of both the meter data management system and web portal has already been started.
