The company will supply the steam turbines of type SST-700 for these parabolic trough power plants which will have a total capacity of about 300MW.
The power plants are being constructed as part of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, the Indian government’s ongoing program for promoting solar power, and will commence operations in 2013.
Siemens offers type SST-700 steam turbines for solar thermal power plants with a rated capacity of up to 175MW.
