Being built by Avanzia for state-owned utility Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Tula 1 and 2 have a combined installed capacity of 550MW, enough to power 300,000 homes.
Avanzia is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the two combined cycle power plants.
Located in Tula, in the municipalities of Hidalgo in central Mexico, the power plants are scheduled to enter service in summer 2017.
Siemens Power and Gas division Americas large gas turbine sales vice-president John Wilson said: "Working with CFE and private IPPs, Siemens will maintain a strong presence in the Mexican market.
"Our SGT6-5000F is a proven and an environmentally friendly gas turbine technology."
The company will manufacture the turbines and generators at its factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, US, which is the main production facility for Siemens 60Hz power generation.
