Upon signing a potential £850m contract, Siemens will supply 102 7MW turbines for the £2bn wind farm.
ScottishPower Renewables CEO Keith Anderson said: "Selecting the turbine supplier will be the single largest agreement for East Anglia One, and the most significant in terms of achieving important cost-reduction goals."
Siemens will manufacture the turbine blades at its new facility in Hull, UK.
Featuring 240 wind turbine generators, the project is a 50/50 joint venture of Sweden’s state-owned utility Vattenfall and Scottish Power Renewables. It is expected to create almost 2,900 jobs and generate electricity to serve approximately 820,000 homes.
Work on the ScottishPower Renewables-led project is is expected to commence in 2017 with turbines planned to be installed from 2019. The project will go online in 2020.
In an auction, the UK Government has set the electricity tariff for the project at £119 per megawatt-hour.
By 2020, Britain intends to have installed offshore wind capacity of over 10GW.
ScottishPower plans to produce and source more than half of the components for the project in the UK.
