The Tuaspring natural gas-fired power plant in northwestern Singapore will have a generating capacity of around 411MW.

The facility will be built in a single-shaft configuration and integrated into the seawater desalination plant to provide drinking water to Singapore.

Siemens will deliver a Model SGT5-4000F gas turbine, heat recovery steam generator, one SST5-3000 steam turbine, an SGen5-2000H-series hydrogen-cooled generator and the SPPA-T3000 instrumentation and control system as well as the associated auxiliary and ancillary systems.

The company will also supply the facility’s electrical switchgear and transformers, and the plant is scheduled to begin operation in 2014.
