Siemens Power Generation is to expand its presence in the wind sector with the acquisition of Bremen-based AN Windenergie.
AN Windenergie has to date installed approximately 1,300 MW of wind capacity. The company sells and maintains wind power systems with individual turbine ratings up to 3.6 MW.
Since 1989, AN Windenergie had been the exclusive sales and service partner of Bonus Energy and has been active for Siemens Wind Power since Siemens acquired the Danish wind power company in late 2004.
German anti-trust authorities have already issued approval for the deal which is due to be completed before the end of the current quarter. The purchase price was not disclosed.
