The product utilizes shorai’s eXtreme-Rate LiFePO4 cell technology (LFX) and provides benefits as compared to the lead-acid batteries such as weight reduction by 1/4 to 1/5, average service life enhancement by two to four times and holding a charge for up to one year without maintenance.

Shorai LFX batteries, which make use of military-spec carbon-plastic composite cases, can be disposed of with no toxic effect to landfills and are a drop-in replacement for original-equipment lead acid batteries.

Shorai executive vice president of sales & marketing, Kevin Riley said that the company’s products are truly a breakthrough in the powersports starter battery category.

“For the first time, consumers have the ability to radically improve their vehicle’s overall performance, while increasing reliability and reducing maintenance, at price points that are within the reach of the average enthusiast,” Riley said.
