The Anacortes refinery has a capacity to process about 145,000 barrel per day (bpd) and is expected to resume operations in the early November.
According to Shell’s notice filed with the Northwest Clean Air Agency the maintenance work will also include the issues relating to the refinery’s delayed coking unit, catalytic reforming unit, hydro treating units No 1 and 2 and amine regenerating unit.
Vacuum pipestill, the crude unit of the refinery carries out the initial refining of crude oil coming into the Anacortes refinery, reports Reuters.
The unit prepares diesel and feed stocks for other units including the refinery’s gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit.
