SHE Transmission’s Project Manager Andy McLaren said: "The purpose of our consultation was to obtain feedback from local residents at an early stage in the development of our plans, before any key decisions have been taken. We have gained a lot of valuable information, both from residents and from ongoing survey work in the area.
"In light of this, we will be carrying out a more detailed review of our options to ensure we are able to identify the best combination of a substation site and an overhead line route corridor before we move forward with more detailed design work. This process will take a little more time and I would like to thank residents for their patience while we carry out this further work.
"SHE Transmission’s role is to identify the best overall solution to provide the capacity that is needed in the network by generators. We have to find a balance between economic, environmental and technical considerations, but we recognise that local communities have an important part to play in the process. I am grateful for local residents’ input to date and look forward to maintaining a constructive dialogue as we make progress over the course of the year ahead."
