Shaughnessy has reduced its carbon emissions by offsetting 100% of the electricity it uses at its ten locations with the purchase of 1,478,920 kilowatt hours (kWh) of renewable energy credits (RECs) since 2008.

In addition, Shaughnessy is continuing its commitment to take responsibility for 100% of the emissions generated from its delivery fleet of sixteen trucks by purchasing carbon offsets.

With this purchase, Shaughnessy helps avoid a similar amount of CO2 emissions produced by nearly 290 passenger vehicles annually or the electricity use of 197 average American homes.

Shaughnessy Kniep Hawe president and COO Ed Kniep IV said that the company is balancing its carbon footprint by supporting renewable energy and carbon mitigation projects.
