The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) has announced a series of design-build 1 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) projects that will be advertised in 2009 and 2010. The proposed solar projects will be located on municipal buildings in San Francisco, including San Francisco city hall, Davies Symphony hall, The War Memorial Opera House and Terminal 2 of the San Francisco International Airport, and other municipal facilities.

SFPUC said that it has also issued a request for qualifications to pre-qualify potential bidders who wants to bid on these solar projects. Potential bidders are encouraged to submit pre-qualification packages as soon as possible, so that they might be notified of their pre-qualification status well in advance of upcoming projects.

Bidders should be pre-qualified before the advertisement of the request for proposals (RFP) for the projects. It is recommended that firms submit their pre-qualification questionnaire by January 30, 2009 so that they are qualified to bid on the first RFP, which is anticipated to be advertised in March 2009.
