Serious Materials Inc. (Serious Materials), a US based manufacturer of sustainable green building materials, has appointed Daniel Boss as vice president (VP) of engineering. As VP of engineering, Boss will extend the company’s position in sustainable building materials, and head up all product development including SeriousWindows, SeriousGlass, EcoRock, QuietRock, ThermaRock, and QuietHome Doors.

Boss has experience in new product identification and development as well as the successful reengineering of product portfolios.

Prior to joining Serious Materials, Boss was in charge of new technology platforms for US Gypsum Corporation. In this position, he led the portfolio creation of platform technologies with a total potential market of over $5 billion. Prior to that, he was at Material Science Corporation where he developed advanced noise and damping products and laminated products for military and commercial customers. Boss has a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and currently holds four patents with seven pending.
