The company’s wholly owned Namibian subsidiary has been awarded the interest by the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy, in partnership with the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia and Indigenous Energy.

The licence award, which covers an area of about 17,400 sq km, includes Blocks 2512A, 2513A, 2513B and 2612A (part) in the centre of the Luderitz basin.

Serica said it will conduct a 3D seismic survey and undertake reprocessing of existing 2D seismic data during the initial four-year exploration period of the licence.
