Featuring a total of 152 Senvion MM92 and 23 Senvion MM82 type turbines in a special cold climate version, the wind facility will be located in the Regional County Municipalities (RCM) of Charlevoix and Fjord du Saguenay.

Till date, the company has installed and commissioned 75 of the turbines as part of the first phase of the project, which is anticipated to generate enough energy for about 106,000 households in the region.

The second phase, which will feature 100 additional turbines, is due to be completed by end of 2015.

EDF Renewable Services, the North American subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, will be responsible for operations and maintenance for the facility.

Power generated from the facility will be sold to Hydro-Québec Distribution under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

Senvion CEO Andreas Nauen said: "With the completion of Rivière-du-Moulin, Senvion has an impressive footprint in Quebec which will continue to grow.

"Despite the considerable size of the project and the number of turbines, grid connection has been right on schedule."
