Sempra Generation’s Copper Mountain Solar project is located adjacent to its 10MW El Dorado Solar installation in Boulder City, Nevada.

Sempra Generation started construction on Copper Mountain Solar facility in January 2010 and completed in December 2010.

The company said that the 48MW solar facility is now generating enough emission-free electricity to power about 14,000 average homes.

Pacific Gas & Electric has signed 20-year power purchase agreements with Sempra Generation to buy the electricity generated from Copper Mountain Solar and El Dorado Solar power projects.

Sempra Generation operates and maintains a fleet of clean, efficient natural gas-fueled power plants and is a developer of solar and wind facilities that serve US markets.
