Sembcorp, through its subsidiaries Sembcorp Utilities and Sembcorp Industrial Parks, has signed agreements with Jinan Quancheng Water and Rizhao Municipal People's Government respectively to explore businesses in China.

Sembcorp Utilities and Jinan Quancheng Water have formed a joint venture to build, own and operate water treatment plants in the east of Jinan City, Shandong province of China.

Sembcorp plans to acquire a 50% stake in the proposed joint venture, while Jinan Quancheng Water will hold the other 50% stake.

Sembcorp Industrial Parks and the Rizhao Municipal People’s Government have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore the feasibility of a 638-hectare international marine city in Shandong Province.

The proposed development will comprise a coastal-urban area zoned for commercial and residential purposes, as well as industrial and logistics zones with a focus on marine-related industries.

Jinan Quancheng Water is owned by the Jinan City Public Utilities Board.
