The Seaway pipeline system is an 804.6km and 30in wide pipeline that transports crude oil from Cushing in Texas to the Gulf Coast.

Seaway joint venture undertook the expansion project to increase the capacity of the pipeline from 150,000 barrels per day (bpd) to around 400,000bpd.

The company has temporarily halted crude oil transportation through the pipeline to complete the remaining work which involves pump station connections.

It is expected that the pipeline will resume its full-rated operations by the end next week.

The Seaway system also includes a terminal and distribution network starting in Texas, which serves local and Houston refineries. In addition, it includes dock facilities at Freeport and Texas City.
