According to the company, the wind farm will comprise of up to 13 turbines with the capacity to produce 30MW of clean energy, which can power over 16,000 homes.
Split over two council areas, the planning applications were submitted in November 2006 with the Wansbeck Council minded to approve the project with Castle Morpeth rejecting the submission.

Earlier in October 2008, ScottishPower announced a deal with Debenhams to supply all of its 178 properties in the UK with electricity generated from green sources. The two-year deal will see ScottishPower supply 35MW (megawatts) of electricity per month to Debenhams stores across the UK, covering 100% of the retail giant’s electricity demands.
With the integration of ScottishPower & Iberdrola now complete, ScottishPower is focused on three main areas; Transmission & Distribution through Energy Networks, Generation & Supply through Energy Wholesale & Retail and Canadian gas storage through PPM Canada.
