The project worth £300,000 at Knocknairshill reservoir will help ensure it continues to perform well for future needs.
The work was performed by contractors Balfour Beatty for Scottish Water Solutions, a joint venture partnership between Scottish Water and some construction, engineering and water firms.
The project’s construction manager Frazer Menzies said Scottish Water has invested in the substantial improvements to an important reservoir because it has a duty to maintain its existing assets to ensure a supply of high quality water to its customers.
"The investment at Knocknairshill reservoir involved extensive repairs to the stone pitching on the reservoir face and the refurbishment and re-lining of the reservoir spillway," Menzies said.
The Dougliehill water treatment works, which serves about 11,000 people in parts of the Port Glasgow area, will receive water from the reservoir.
