This agreement will allow the partners to create a commercial and technical offer for pilot schemes on electric vehicles and related charging infrastructures, in Europe and North America, starting in 2010.

The projects managed within this partnership will enable both organizations to develop solutions and be ready to start installing on street and parking infrastructure for electric vehicle charging in 2011.

Frederic Abbal, president of Schneider Electric France, said: “Through this partnership, Schneider Electric reaffirms its ambition to offer simple, efficient and accessible charging solutions for future electric vehicle users, explained. This collaboration between Schneider Electric and Parkeon, both major players of their sectors, is the best way to rapidly develop the electrical vehicle market.”

Yves Chambeau, president of Parkeon, said: “Thanks to the obvious synergies existing between both partners, Parkeon will have the possibility to support cities, and local authorities to manage their urban transport plans and the position of the electric vehicle in their cities in the future. Furthermore, this collaboration will allow us to further develop our offer for parking and transport organizations.”

By combining their capabilities, Parkeon and Schneider Electric will be able to provide their local authority clients with a solution to manage urban parking facilities integrated with an electrical vehicle charging infrastructure.
