Satcon’s Prism Platforms will be used for Pacific Gas and Electric’s (PG&E’s) upcoming 15MW ground mount installation near Fresno.

The power project is part of PG&E’s 250MW Utility Owned Generation photovoltaic (PV) program, a five-year plan for the construction of utility-owned solar power plants.

Solon will utilize the 1.25MW Prism Platform, Satcon’s fully integrated medium-voltage (MV) solution complete with factory-integrated step-up transformers, MV disconnect switches, and power conversion electronics optimized for utility-scale solar PV installations for this project.

Each Prism Platform will be configured to include Equinox inverters, which is built on the backbone of PowerGate Plus inverter solution.

Satcon Design Services designed a custom interface for Solon’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system to create a site controller.

Satcon will also be providing APEX Project Management services through the duration of the procurement, logistics, delivery, and on-site commissioning phases of the project, which is scheduled to begin operations in October 2011.

Satcon is a provider of utility-scale power conversion solutions for the renewable energy market.
