Saipem has inked an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract with LUKOIL subsidiary to develop two export pipelines connecting the Vladimir Filanovsky offshore field in the Northern Caspian Sea to the onshore valves in the Russian Kalmyk Republic.
The 114km 22-inch oil pipeline and a 28-inch gas pipeline will be built in the North Sea at a maximum water depth of 6m, along with onshore pipelines of 10 and 20km, respectively.
As per the deal, offshore activities will be undertaken by the pipelay barge Castoro 12 and by the trenching vessel Castoro 16 in different phases between 2013 and 2015.
In the North Sea, Saipem said it has won new contracts from several clients, including an EPCI contract with Dong Exploration and Production for a gas export pipeline and an oil export pipeline in Denmark’s Hejre field, 300km off the Western Danish coast.
The deal entails building a 24km, 12-inch gas export pipeline in a water depth of 69m and an oil export pipeline of 90km with a 10-inch diameter in a water depth of 40m.
The offshore activities are scheduled to be undertaken between the second and third quarter of 2014.
