Under the modernization project, IDGC will replace the old equipments, reconstruct the outdoor 110kV switchgear, and build a new substation control room.

The upgrade program is expected to increase the reliability of the existing power supply circuit.

In addition, to ensure smooth operation of the substation, IDGC’s power engineers will install latest equipments at the facility.

The company will also use new design solutions that have been applied in the grid complex of Orelenergo. In particular, the 35kV –
110kV outdoor switchgear will be installed of a block-modular design at the substation.

IDGC of Centre Orelenergo division deputy chief engineer Sergey Zakharov said the original design solutions will reduce construction time and cost, as well as floor space for the substation.

The upgrade project will meet all the requirements under Electrical Installation Regulations.
