Russian energy firm JSC RusHydro has recently signed MoU’s with firms in Argentina and India that could see further development of hydropower in the two countries.

In Argenting, RusHydro signed an agreement with Energia Argentina SA (ENARSA) that will see the two firms engage in joint implementation of projects in hydropower and alternative renewable sources – including tidal power – and exchange expertise in energy efficiency, design, construction, maintenance and modernization of hydropower facilities. They also agreed to work out opportunities for cross-border electricity sales with neighbouring countries.

RusHydro also recently signed a deal with the the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation of India (NHPC Limited), where the companies will consider cooperation opportunities in hydropower engineering and renewable energy sources development, as well as in consulting and management services. They also agreed to jointly study the possibilities of implementating joint turnkey projects in other countries.
