RusHydro and Voith Hydro to cooperate on Saratovskaya modernisation

RusHydro and Voith Hydro have signed an agreement that will see the firms work together on the modernisation of the Saratovskaya hydropower plant.

RusHydro and Voith Hydro have signed an agreement that will see the firms work together on the modernisation of the Saratovskaya hydropower plant.

Under the terms of a MoU, the firms joint venture, VolgaHydro LLC, will manufacture turbines for the modernisation, the largest project the companies have cooperated on so far.

The comprehensive modernization of the plant provides for replacement of 21 turbines and hydro unit No. 24. The new equipment will increase the plant’s installed capacity by 10%. The first four modernized hydro units of the Saratovskaya have already been commissioned.
