The 8,000MW gas-fired plant now awaits a Supreme Court decision on gas supplies. The contract is estimated at $3 billion and the bids were called in August.
The power plant has received bids from domestic companies such as Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (Bhel), and international companies such as GE, Siemens, Alstom and Mitsubishi.
Most of the bids were submitted last month while the last date for submission of bids is October 30.
As reported, the companies can bid for the complete EPC contract that includes power block, erection and commissioning. The companies can also bid for EPC of power block, including erection and commissioning, or for supply of gas turbine or steam turbine or heat recovery steam generator.
