RMT has been selected by Wind Capital Group to design and build the 201MW Post Rock wind energy facility in central Kansas, US.

The company will provide engineering, procurement, and civil and electrical infrastructure construction services for the installation of the turbines at the facility, located in Lincoln and Ellsworth Counties.

The civil and electrical infrastructure includes roads, crane paths and pads, turbine foundations, an underground collector system, in-tower wiring, and the construction of two meteorological towers.

RMT will also oversee the mechanical turbine completion, tower erection, and testing and inspections.

The company will begin construction of the facility this year, and the project is expected to start operations in the second half of next year.

Electricity generated by the facility will be sold to Westar Energy under a power purchase agreement which has been approved by the Kansas Corporation Commission.
