The companies will start the construction of 2.3MW solar project located in Pownal and the 2.5MW project situated in the Williamstown later this month.
The two projects are being designed to produce 5,500 MWh per year; 100% of which will be purchased through a feed-in tariff under the standard offer program of Vermont’s Sustainably Priced Energy Development (SPEED) Program.
Gestamp Solar VP Pablo Otin said, "Vermont’s feed-in-tariff has made it one of the more attractive locations for solar development in the country."
RGS Energy, the commercial and utility division of RGS, will design and install the the ground mounted solar arrays which will be owned and operated by Gestamp Solar.
The projects are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The VT SPEED Program promotes the development of in-state energy sources which use renewable fuels.
