Approximately US$250M will be made available to help fund renewable energy projects, including hydro schemes, in New York State, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Public Service Commission have announced.

Under a solicitation released yesterday, funds are to be awarded competitively to projects that use wind, hydroelectric, biomass and other renewable resources, news wires have reported.

Funds are expected to be awarded in April this year.
