China-based solar photovoltaic modules and wafers manufacturer ReneSola has secured a photovoltaic module supply contract, totaling 63MW from Energy Absolute.

As per the agreed terms, the company will supply its Virtus II PV modules to Energy Absolute, as part of a project in Nakornsawan, Thailand.

The delivery of the modules is expected to take place in August and October 2013.

ReneSola noted that the project is one among its several large-scale solar contracts in Southeast Asia.

Commenting on the contract, ReneSola chief executive officer Xianshou Li said that the contract with Energy Absolute demonstrates that the Virtus modules not only meet the requirements of traditional European and American markets, but also are suitable for the high temperatures and tropical conditions of Southeast Asia.

"As we look ahead, we hope to generate additional business in the emerging solar markets of Southeast Asia," added Li.

ReneSola, through its subsidiaries, engages in the research and development, and manufacture of virgin polysilicon, monocrystalline and multicrystalline silicon wafers, and PV cells and modules. It provides integrated solutions for commercial, agricultural, and large-scale projects.
