ReneSola, a solar photovoltaic (PV) company, has secured Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification for its polycrystalline silicon terrestrial PV module line for complying with the standards of the Japanese market.
The module manufacturer is the first PV company to receive this certification globally, the company stated.
ReneSola chief executive officer Xianshou Li said that the UL certificate reflects the quality and safety of the company’s solar modules for the Japanese market.
"This certification is an essential step in building our business in Japan and reflects our commitment to providing high-quality solar products to the country’s end users," added Li.
"We are confident our competitive edge in terms of quality will drive our growth in Japan as we invest in what continues to be one of our fastest growing markets."
Earlier in 2013, the company had also obtained standard certifications from Japan Photovoltaic Expansion Center (JPEC) and Japan Electrical and Environment Technology Laboratories (JET).
