Reliance Infrastructure Limited (Reliance) has reported a total income of $27 million for the third quarter of 2008. It has also reported net profit of $22 million and net worth of $2.8 billion for the third quarter of 2008.

The company also reported cash & liquid balances of $ 2.16 billion.

Updates on the power projects being developed by Reliance– Milestones achieved in last quarter

Construction work for the 600 megawatt (MW) Rosa Phase I project in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh is progressing at a fast pace and the project is expected to be commissioned six months ahead of its scheduled date of June 2010. Key activities like boiler drum lifting for both units and chimney construction have been completed.

The 600 MW Rosa Phase II Project has been awarded coal linkage. Financing activities for the Project are nearing completion.

Construction work has commenced at 3960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project.

Commissioning schedule of Sasan project has been advanced by three years from the year 2016 to 2013 and Supplementary Power Purchase Agreement is signed in this regard with procurers.

Sasan UMPP is at advanced stages of achieving the financial closure and has already obtained loan sanctions for most of the debt required for the project.

Construction work has commenced at 300 MW Coal based project at Butibori in MIDC area of Nagpur, Maharashtra.

Construction work has commenced at 4,000 MW Krishnapatnam Ultra Mega Power Project.

Government of India informed Mumbai High Court that gas will be made available to Dadri and other power projects in pipeline subject to availability. The decision is without prejudice to the outcome of RIL-RNRL court case in Bombay High Court.

Hydroelectric projects:

Infrastructure development activities for 1000 MW Siyom and 700 MW Tato II commenced.

Hydrological Aspects of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of both Siyom and Tato II submitted to Central Electricity Authority (CEA) & Central Water Commission (CWC) for concurrence.

Consent to establish for Siyom obtained from Arunachal Pradesh State Pollution

Control Board on January 12, 2009.
