India-based Reliance Energy has reported net profit of $118 million for the first half of 2007, an increase of 30% compared to the same period of 2006.

The company reported total income of $932 million, an increase of 28% compared to the prior-year period. Cash profit stood at $155 million, an increase of 28% when compared to the prior-year period. In addition, the company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization increased to $210 million, an increase of 27% compared to the same period of 2006.

The total H1 sales of electrical energy stood at $638 million, an increase of 40% compared to the prior-year period. The aggregate sales of electrical energy were 4.86 billion units compared to 4.42 billion units in the corresponding period of 2006, an increase of 10%.
