The company was selected as a developer for these projects which will have a total generating capacity of 672MW.
The power projects include 130MW Sumte Kothang, 300MW Purthi, 104MW Lara Sumta, 94MW Teling and 44MW Shangling.
Reliance Power will hand over the hydroelectric projects to the state government after operating them for 40 years.
The company is also constructing seven hydropower projects with a total capacity of 4,600MW in the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
