CORE Construction has started installation of photovoltaic arrays at three high schools for the Buckeye Union High School District.
Along with CORE Construction, Local project management firm GV Enterprises and solar consultant Natural Power & Energy will also oversee project development and construction.
The Buckeye Union High School District project will consist of both ground mount and elevated ground mount photovoltaic arrays.
GV Enterprises project manager John Drew said the solar team will be completing the deployment of the project in December 2011.
"The solar project brings clean electricity to power the schools and provides about 70% of the District’s power needs," Drew said.
Under a power purchase agreement between the parties, REgeneration Finance owns and operates the project for the 25 year life of the contract, and the Buckeye Union High School District buys the electricity generated by the systems at a predetermined rate.
The project is part of Arizona Public Service’s Renewable Incentives Program.
