The company received planning consent for this wind energy project in February 2011 and the facility is expected to begin operation in the first half of 2012.
Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for Spring 2012 and the wind farm will generate approximately 27GWh of electricity per annum.
The power project, which will cost around £12.5m, will be funded from REG’s existing cash resources, the company said.
REG CEO Andrew Whalley said this project will increase the company’s renewable energy output by 25% to around 133GWh per annum and increase its total capacity to 51.15MW.
